Basic Business English is designed to develop a basic knowledge of vocabulary and phrases used in international business communication. It is written for the university student and professional who plan to use business English in their daily work activities.

The general idea of this electronic book is based on two fundamental notions. First, to introduce the student to the basic vocabulary and phrases used in everyday business communication and second, to review many of the aspects of general basic English. These two ideas work very well together since most students who are learning a basic vocabulary of business English also need a review of some of the basic notions of basic grammar in English.

This business course begins with the structure of a company using the most elementary sentence structure. Little by little, sentence structure becomes more complicated with a combination of new business vocabulary. The course terminates with an understanding of the basic terms of the balance sheet and the profit and loss statement.

Each lesson is divided into five parts.

1. Presentation
2. Interactive Vocabulary with Sound
3. Examples with Sound
4. Dialogues with Sound
5. Interactive Questions with Sound

The presentation gives a short synopsis of the contents of the lesson. From here, the student can begin navigation picking a topic of vocabulary, examples, dialogues or questions.

The text box of vocabulary shows the new business words that are presented in each lesson. By clicking on a word, you will see a definition, examples of the new vocabulary word, and links that will take you to different vocabulary words related to business.

Each lesson includes examples(sentences) of the new vocabulary within the context of the grammar topic. Examples are directly related to the grammar theme of the lesson. Many of the examples include not only sentences but also include questions which are further related to the grammar subject of the lesson.

With the understanding of vocabulary and the formation of sentences, we can construct dialogues. Each lesson includes common business dialogues using the business and grammar topic of the lesson.

In order to finalize a lesson, there are interactive questions which test the students ability to understand:

1. the different aspects of vocabulary;
2. basic grammar within a business structure;
3. general ideas of basic business.

Note: The sound version of Basic Business English includes many questions which are especially formulated to develop the listening ablilities of the student.
